If you’re dreaming of Tuscany as a place that leaves you well-rested, replenished, and luxuriously inspired for life, love, and connection, then read on. I’ve found just the place for you.

What Does Luxury Mean to You?
I believe there are many kinds of luxury. At times it’s high-tech comfort, where at the lightest press of a button the blinds glide open or close, or perhaps a Natuzzi mindful sofa that intuitively adapts to each family member’s posture.
At other times, it’s a slower way of living: replenishing, soulful, and simple. Think hand-sewn linens, warm handmade terracotta floors, refinished vintage furniture, and walls formed from natural materials such as clay, hemp, or rice husks. To me, this is slow, deeply meaningful luxury. And my family found just that on our luxury Tuscany travel experience at Vegan Agrivilla I Pini, a farmhouse nestled in the heart of Tuscany.
A Taste of Tuscany at I Pini
There’s only so much pasta and pizza a holiday stomach can take. At I Pini, the Mediterranean gardens themselves feel restorative and alive with the intense flavours of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and wines that awaken the senses and connect you back to the roots of natural food.
So while I Pini includes both breakfast and dinner in your stay, I’d also highly recommend you don’t miss their lunch menu. Every dish is crafted from organic ingredients sourced from nearby towns, with plates that are as beautiful as they are flavourful, offering a variety to satisfy every palate across multiple courses. And the setting only elevates the experience: picture yourself on their sun-dappled patio, savouring each bite with 180-degree views of San Gimignano, a shimmering saltwater pool, and landscapes framed by vineyards, olive groves, and orchards stretching into the horizon. It’s a reminder of how luxury Tuscany travel can be both soulful and delicious.
Discovering San Gimignano
A 20-minute walk will take you up to the medieval town of San Gimignano, affectionately dubbed "San G" by my family. Whether it’s a flat white, a sunset cocktail, a spot of fun shopping, or a visit to lovely art galleries, there’s plenty waiting to be discovered. And when gelato o’clock rolls around, join the line at the central Piazza della Cisterna for Gelateria Dondoli—a world-renowned Gelateria that’s worth every spoonful.
Caffeine and Culture
Magnino, a beautifully furnished restaurant and speciality coffee shop, serves up a super flat white and cappuccino. With caffeine-fuelled energy, visit Galleria Gagliardi, the Soft Wooden Pillow series by Egon Digon caught my attention among many others.
Art That Resonates: Andrea Roggi
Visit the Circle of Life Art Gallery, where Andrea Roggi’s sculptures are displayed. Andrea Roggi is a prolific Italian sculptor and his work truly moved me. What also caught my eye is his collaboration with the University of Texas from his hometown in Tuscany, where he runs workshops and courses on sculptural techniques. In short: Roggi’s art is layered, soulful, and timeless—qualities I strive to bring into my interiors. Though honestly, I’d be thrilled to see one of his gorgeous pieces in a client’s home… or mine!
Beyond the Farmhouse
There are several towns to visit in the area, while Siena and Florence are only an hour away. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Colle di Val d’Elsa, and a town we didn’t get to see, but comes highly recommended, is Certaldo. And if you’re heading further north, don’t miss my Lake Garda blog for another unforgettable Italian escape.
A Last Sip of Tuscany
This was our first, but certainly not our last, discovery of a slow restorative resort experience. And while Tuscany has its own unique magic, I can’t help but imagine finding equally soulful places not only in Italy, but across the world.
